A few more handrails would enhance safety.

The Standard King Room was spacious and clean, which was a nice surprise. The bed was super comfy, perfect for a good night's sleep. The newly-fitted bathroom felt fresh and modern. Just a bit of noise from outside at night was a little annoying, but overall it’s a cozy spot.

Excellent Scottish Breakfast and Comfortable Stay
My recent stay was enjoyable with a fantastic Scottish breakfast that was one of the best I've had, offering a superb selection of options. The staff were welcoming and attentive, making for a pleasant atmosphere throughout my visit. The location is ideal, just a short walk from the town center and nearby parking was a blessing. my room felt a bit dated, which could use a little modernization.

missingWrote a review on Jun 12whisky selectionhistorical charmnoisy bar
The restaurant offers an impressive whisky selection, perfect for those looking to indulge after a long day. the historical charm of the building adds a unique ambiance that captures the essence of the location.
Parking space is scarce, so if you're late, you might find yourself hunting for spots on the street. The decor in the rooms feels quite tired, needing a refresh—small things like broken shower heads or improperly closing bathroom doors become a nagging nuisance. noise from the bar below can disrupt your peace, especially later at night, which is less than ideal for a good night's sleep.

The hotel had a lovely outside seating area at the front, perfect for our family reunion upon arrival. Our room offered stunning views, and the breakfasts were delicious, the full Scottish was a highlight, just like the warm and welcoming staff who made us feel right at home.

Period charm stands out with the Victorian architecture, offering a unique character. The small double room felt cozy with a surprising amount of space, making it comfortable for downtime.
Unfortunately, the décor throughout is quite tired and carpets seemed in dire need of a serious clean. The bathroom shower had mold around the edges, and the fire safety measures raised some eyebrows. fire doors were left propped open, which didn't inspire confidence. There was also a noticeable lack of organization at check-in, as it required navigating through a crowded bar while juggling luggage. A couple of wrappers and grime were found beneath the bed, suggesting cleaning could use a more thorough approach.
